Mallika Sherawat, her real name is Reena-Lamba, is an Indian actress and a model. Born on 24 October 1976 in Hisar in Haryana, she mainly works in Hindi language movies. She is a well-talented actress. Mallika is one of the few Bollywood celebrities attempting to enter Hollywood. Mallika, a beauty icon and one of the most well-liked superstars in Bollywood, is known for her outspoken on-screen personality in movies like Khwahish in 2003 and Murder in 2004. She also made a successful comedy film performance in Pyaar Ke Side Effects in 2006, for which she received high reviews from critics.

When she started her career, she said that she was from a smaller, conservative town family and had to face many difficulties from them to pursue her career in acting. Her family did not support her acting career, and later, she created her own story, after that, she married a Jet airways Pilot and her husband's name is Karan Singh Gill.

Mallika was born on 24 October 1976 in the Hisar district of Haryana. But now she lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Mallika was born into a Jaat family. Her father's name is Mukesh Kumar Lamba, and her mother's name is Santosh Sherawat, her brother's name is Vikram Lamba.

Mallika completed her schooling at Delhi Public School in Mathura road of Haryana. After that, she pursued her graduation from Miranda House College of the University of Delhi (Miranda House College is one of the top-ranking colleges at Delhi University).

In 1997, Sherawat married Delhi-based jet airways pilot Karan Singh Gill during her starting career as an air hostess. Later, she got divorced. Mallika was born in the family of Seth Chhaju Ram, a leading Jaat leader. She changed her name from Reena to "Mallika" she chose the screen name "Mallika," which means "empress.", to avoid confusion with other actresses named Reema. She used her mother's surname "Sherawat" because her mother supported her very much in her struggling face; then, she claimed that Mallika uses her mother's surname.

Mallika's family denied her decision to work in the movie industry, but when she started working in films and when her parents saw her as a good and reputed actress. Then they accepted her in their career choice and supported her.

Mallika completed her schooling at Delhi public school in Mathura road of Haryana. After that, she pursued her graduation from Miranda House College of the University of Delhi with a degree in philosophy.

She started her career acting as a Model in television commercial ads. Mallika first participated in some TV commercials with Amitabh Bachchan for BPL (an electronic manufacturing company) and Shahrukh Khan for Hyundai Santro, a car advertisement. She also participated in a music album by Nirmal Pandey and Surjit Bindrakhia. She debuted in the film Jeena Sirf Merre Liye in 2002, along with Tusshar Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.
