Early Life

She was born on September 6, 1988, in the city of Chandigarh. Her family includes her father, mother and her younger brother. Sargun Mehta completed her schooling in Chandigarh, and there she did her schooling at Carmel Convent School and Sacred Heart Convent School. Later she graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Commerce from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. She wanted to complete a master's degree in Business Management, but she was selected for her first television show Karol Bagh, and she had to leave her study to follow her passion for acting. After the end of this show, she shifted to Mumbai to grow further in the tv industry.

During an interview, Sargun shared that she didn't want to come into this industry, but during her college time, she played a role in her college drama. After that, she signed some papers, and according to one paper, she had to do work for the next two years for that company. So because of that contract, Sargun took entry into the tv and film industry.

Career

Sargun Mehta started acting at her College in Theater Production, but she made her tv screen debut in 2009 with Zee TV Serial 12/24 Karol Bagh, which was a popular show at that time, and after this, she got the role in the tv serial Phulwa in 2011. She was critically acclaimed for her acting skills in this show, and it was a significant turning point in her career. She also worked in a famous tv serial Kya Hua Tera Vaada, in 2012 and Balika Vadhu in 2013.

She has also hosted a dance reality show, Boogie Woogie Kids Championship. She has also worked in the serial Apno Ke Liye Dharmyudh, Star Plus network's anthology series Teri Meri Love Stories etc. After that, she took a break from the tv industry for a while and then made a comeback with a mini-series on Zee Tv named Rishton Ka Mela. She also participated along with Kapil Sharma in the reality-based comedy show Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe in 2012. Sargun and her husband Ravi were the first runner-ups in the couple dance reality show Nach Baliye aired on Star Plus. In 2015 she appeared in the ninth season of the reality show Big Boss as a guest participant.

She made her first movie debut in 2015 in the Punjabi movie Angrej alongside Amrinder Gill and Aditi Sharma. Simerjit Singh directed this movie, and she played the lead role of Dhan Kaur. In 2015 it was the second-highest-grossing Punjabi movie in the Punjabi film industry. After her success in the first movie, she was cast for the role of Jessica in Love Punjab in 2016. She received Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in this movie. Sargun Mehta said this movie is one of her favourite movies. In the next consecutive years, she worked in many Punjabi movies, such as Jindua and Lahoriye, 2017. She received her second Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the film Lahoriye and received PTC Film Awards for Best Actress for the movie Qismat released in 2018.

She also gave a hit movie Kala Shah Kala in 2019, which was the highest-grossing Punjabi film of that year. In 2019 her three more movies were released Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh, Surkhi Bindi and Jhalle, which was a quirky comedy movie. In 2021 Qismat 2 was released, which was the sequel to her 2018 release Qismat. In 2022 she will appear in a romantic comedy opposite Ammy Virk in the movie Saunkan Saunkne. Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gaya is another movie which is under production and elated due to the pandemic.

She, along with her husband, Ravi Dubey, opened her own production house Dreamiyata Entertainment Pvt Ltd, in 2019. She co-produced the movie Jhalle and produced a tv serial, Udaariyaan, that airs on Colors Tv.

During the shooting of Karol, Bagh Sargun started dating her Karol Bagh co-star Ravi Dubey, and after being in a relationship for a few years, they finally tied the knot on 5 February 2013. During an interview, Sargun said that Ravi is a very hardworking person and that Ravi always shares his routine with her. He is very attractive and charming, and after doing Nach Baliye, we understand each other more than before. Her husband, nickname is Sunny.
