Khesari Lal Yadav was born in a low-income family on March 15, 1986, in Dhanadih town of Saran region of Bihar. He got the stage name "Khesari" because of his propensity to talk a lot as a kid.

His parents were forced to rent a pucca house after their mud home collapsed in the storm; Khesari was not born in his own home. To make ends meet, Mangaru Lal Yadav, his father, worked as a security guard and a street vendor, selling Chana in the mornings. Three of his brothers make up the family of seven that Khesari belongs to. The four other boys are his uncle's sons, whose mother died when they were little. Involved in raising them was Khesari's mother. Previously, his father lived in Chhapra with his mother and uncle and made his living in Delhi. Later, his mother left for Delhi to help her husband with family work, and Khesari began living with his siblings and uncle. Khesari used to graze cattle and sell their milk as a youngster. He is married to Chanda Devi, whom he married in 2006.

Acting Career

Khesari began his career as a theatre performer in Bhojpuri theatres in 1998-1999 while singing in the Ramayana and Mahabharata productions. He also learned the Bhojpuri traditional dance Launda Naach during this time. Later, with his parents and wife, he relocated to Okhla, Delhi, where he began selling Litti Chokha. He launched his first album with 12,000 of the money he had saved from selling Litti-chokha, but it was a huge failure. After that, he began working as a servant in the home of Guddu Rangeela, a well-known Bhojpuri singer. After accumulating some money, he spent another 25,000 to release his second album, which received better reviews from the public and helped him earn fame.

He made his acting debut in the Bhojpuri film Sajan Chale Sasural, released in 2012. He portrayed the lead part of Sajan, a village boy who travels to the city to wed the girl with whom his marriage was predetermined when he was a youngster. In Jaan Tere Naam's second movie, he played the role of a young man who aspires to be an actor. He acted in 42 Bhojpuri films between 2012 and 2016, including Nagin (2012), Ae Balma Biharwala (2013), Chhapra Express (2013), Pratigya 2 (2014), and Khiladi (2016), which took home four Sabrang Film Awards 2017 honors.

His film Mehandi Laga Ke Rakhna 3 (2020) is the revamp of the Tamil film Velaiilla Pattadhari. His three more films in 2021 were shot abroad; Chori Chupke and Pyar Kiya to Nibhana were shot in London, while Saiyaan Arab Gaile Na was shot in Dubai.

His first film of 2022 was Aashiqui, in which he also made his screenwriting debut and played the part of an upper-caste youth who defies conventional ideals to win the love of his life. His subsequent film, Shadi Ho To Aisi, came out in May. He then acted alongside British actress Grace Rhodes and Indian actress Madhu Sharma in the London-shot film Dulhaniya London Se Layenge. In August 2022, Shankar, a Telugu director, launched his next film, Rowdy Inspector, on various dates in various locations in India.

Farishta, his first movie of 2023, came out on April 9. In this movie, Khesari portrayed a mentally challenged individual. The biggest Bhojpuri hit of 2023, this movie played in packed theatres for several weeks.

Music Career

He used to sing the Ramayan and the Mahabharat in his early years. He launched his debut album in 2008. Saiyaan Arab Gaile Na, Piyawa Rahele Saudi Re Bhauji, and Maal Bhetai Mela Me are a few of the earlier well-known songs. He made his Bollywood debut in 2014 as a singer in the Koyelaanchal song "AK-47". He performed Holi Me Ude, his second Bollywood song, for the movie Global Baba 2016. He received the Best Playback Singer honor at the 2017 Sabrang Film Awards. His songs Kawna Devta Ke Garhal Sawaral and Jaan Gaini E Ho Jaan stood out that year.

Tere Mere Darmiyaan, his second Bollywood single, was available in 2021. Khesari and Bollywood rapper Badshah worked together on the Bhojpuri rendition of the well-known Hindi song Pani Pani, originally performed by Aastha Gill and Badshah. The Bhojpuri version, which Badshah rapped in, was made available through Saregama.

As his debut Bhojpuri single of 2022, he sang the song Do Ghoont. Soon after, he dropped another song, Aashiq (Lover), whose music video was filmed in Germany. He first recorded a few Holi songs before releasing Dream Me Entry. In addition to 23 Holi songs, he sang six songs for his movie Aashiqui. He has sung on the Hindi song "Tsunami," written and performed by Salim-Sulaiman and released in June 2022. He also released "Unke Dil Me," another Hindi single, during the same month. He also released the Bhojpuri song "UP Bihar" and the Hindi song "Ya Khuda" in August. Additionally, he translated into Bhojpuri the well-known Bengali song "Bondhu Teen Din."

Over 3.6 million people viewed his song "Pagale Bana Di Ram Ji" from the movie Farishta on the first day after its release, which was well welcomed by the audience. In the first 24 hours after its release in March, His single "Nagin" had 5.5 million views. He released the Lucknow Super Giants' IPL team anthem, "Khele Super Giants Lucknowwa," on April 22.
