Syed Sehrish Asgar was born on 1 June 1986 in Jammu and Kashmir. Her present age is 37 years. She was born to an educated and mannered Muslim family with Indian as her nationality. Syed Sehrish Asgar is an Indian Administration Service (IAS) officer who also practiced as a doctor in her youth. She was a topper from starting of her studies. She is the second woman from Jammu and Kashmir who cracked the Union Public Service Commission exam (UPSC) in 2012. She also cleared Kashmir Administration Service Exam in the year 2011. She cracked the UPSC exam on her second attempt. She always wanted to do something for the sake of the Nation.

Her schooling was done at a Presentation convent school in Jammu. After doing MBBS and college from Batra Medical College, she left her practice and started preparing for UPSC. She succeeded in clearing the exam with a second chance. Her nickname is Syed Sehrish. She is tall, approximately Five feet and 8 inches, which matches her standard. Her eye color is brown, and she has black hair. She hides her family from social media; therefore, her family details, like children, siblings, and mother, are unknown. Some say her father's name was Syed Asgar, while some do not have information about the same. She is married to Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah.

Father as Motivation

She chose her father as motivation to crack UPSC. Her motivation for serving the Nation comes from her father. His father was himself an administrator of his times. Later he joined politics. He was an officer in Kashmir Administration Services. This created an environment in the house to serve the Nation. So, Sehrish started preparing for UPSC and finally cracked it.

In her youth, she noticed no active participation of girls in administration and politics. Women in Kashmir and most parts of India are considered to work as a teacher or homemakers. Some need to highlight their hidden talent. Society and families suppress them. Sehrish wanted to prove that even women could do administration duties thoroughly if given a chance. She wanted to reach a level where her power and orders held significance. She cleared State Civil Service (SCS) exam, but more was needed because she could not make many significant decisions in this post.
