About Kanika Kapoor

An accomplished Indian singer, Kanika Kapoor has been famous for multiple reasons throughout her career. August 21, 1978, was the day she was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Her mother, Poonam Kapoor, is a glamorous landlord, while her father, Rajeev Kapoor, is an accomplished entrepreneur. In 1997, Kanika wed Raj Chandok, and the two of them moved to London to start a family. However, their marriage ended in 2012.

With the release of the smash hit song "Baby Doll" for the Ragini MMS 2 movie, vocalist Kanika Kapoor became well-known. She is from a family background that has musical roots. In addition to attending the Loreto convent school in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Kanika also attended the Bhatkhande Music Institute in Lucknow, where she studied music for her BA and MA. With the help of Pandit Ganesh Prasad Mishra, she began studying music at a young age. She had the chance to sing on "All India Radio (AIR)" when she was just 11 years old. She is a skilled Kathak dancer in addition to singing.

Family

Kanika Kapoor originally belonged to a Hindu Khatri family. Rajeev Kapoor, her father, is an entrepreneur. He runs his family's electrical trading business, the third generation. Poonam Kapoor, who manages the store Kalakrutti, is her mother and an exporter of chicken products as well.

At her cousin's wedding in Khajuraho, Kanika had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Raj Chandok, who was also her cousin's best friend. They (Kanika and Raj Chandok) went to London after being married in 1997. They have a boy named Yuvraaj, two daughters named Aayana and Samara, and a third child whom people do not know yet. Her children are all citizens of the United Kingdom. After spending almost 15 years together, the couple separated in 2010 when Kanika discovered that her husband was having an extramarital affair. Their marriage broke up in the year 2012.

Career

In 2012, Kanika Kapoor made her career debut right during her divorce settlement with the song "Jugni Ji" starring Dr. Zeus. Within a few weeks after its release, the song?which was a remix of the Pakistani Sufi classic "Alif Allah"?became a great commercial success.

The song "Baby Doll" for the movie Ragini MMS 2 was a turning event for her as this song was her first playback song and the one that gained her the maximum attention. The song received favorable reviews and became very well-known. In the following years, she gave many hit songs to the industry, including "Lovely", "Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan", "Nachan Farrate", "Jugni Peeke Tight Hai", "Jab Chaye Tera Jadoo", and "Beat Pe Booty".

She performed a welcome song for the Prime Minister in 2015 when he traveled to the UK. Kanika sang the Indian anthem in front of PM, Narendra Modi for the second time in 2018 during her performance. She has a fashion label owned by herself called "Kanika Kapoor: House of Chikankari" to give a boost to the craft of embroidery and textile design apart from her singing.

Kanika supported Swiss Watchmaker 88 Rue du Rhone in 2016 and is now formally serving as 88 Rue du Rhone's brand ambassador.
