Shehzad Poonawalla

Shehzad Poonawalla is an Indian civil rights activist who used to be a member of the Indian National Congress party; currently, he is a member of the BJP. Shehzad is well-known for speaking out against a particular kind of politics called dynasty politics, where political power stays within the same family. He has promised to try and free the Congress party from this kind of politics.

Early Life and Family

Shehzad Poonawalla was born to Yasmeen and Sarfaraz Poonawalla. He also has an older brother named Tehseen Poonawalla. However, Shehzad and Tehseen's relationship turned sour when Shehzad openly opposed the practice of dynasty politics within the Congress party and questioned the fairness of Rahul Gandhi's election as its leader. This disagreement caused a rift between the two brothers, leading them to sever ties.
